Covid-19 adjusted Terms & Conditions

During this period of uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, African Encounters is committed to being as flexible as is reasonably possible with regard to current and new guest bookings, but with country-specific conditions and quarantine requirements, it is difficult to find a universal solution.

While Covid-19 conditions exist, the Covid-19 Adjusted Terms and Conditions set out below replace the relevant sections of our Standard Terms and Conditions. Guests are still required to acknowledge and accept all other terms and conditions set out in our Standard Terms and Conditions. These amendments apply exclusively to the current global Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Deposits

Deposits on all safaris have been reduced to NZ$500 per person, and are due within 7 days of receiving your booking confirmation. This deposit is non-refundable, however, it can be transferred to another departure date should you have to postpone your travel plans due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Postponement

If you are unable to travel due to restrictions that are a result of government-imposed Covid-19 levels, our African suppliers are offering postponement of your travel plans. A Guest may postpone their trip for up to 24 months from the original date of travel, subject to availability. It is important to know that depending on the new travel dates, there may be extra costs due to seasonality changes or yearly price increases. However, this is unlikely. The inability to travel must be for reasons outside of your control.

In the event a booking was postponed due to government-imposed Covid-19 restrictions, and should the Guest subsequently choose to cancel the booking, a cancellation fee shall be charged as per our normal Terms and Conditions.

Cancellation

The Guest may cancel the booking, as a result of government-imposed Covid-19 restrictions, by notifying African Encounters Ltd in writing at least 35 days prior to travel, in which case the Guest will be refunded in full. Any bookings cancelled 45 days or less from the date of travel will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
