This Kenya and Tanzania wildlife safari is for the true wildlife enthusiast. If you want to avoid the crowds in the national parks and venture off the regular tourist route with knowledgeable and qualified safari guides – this is the safari for you! You’ll explore the African wilderness and track animal footprints on guided walks with Maasai warriors while enjoying the comfort of superb safari camps.
In Kenya your wonderful camps are set within private conservancies, adjacent to Amboseli National Park and the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. These conservancies provide an important dispersal area for wildlife moving out of the national parks and game reserves. They ensure the best possible game viewing in open 4×4 safari vehicles, off the beaten track and away from other tourist vans and minibuses. You’ll visit an authentic Maasai village, and experience night game drives, bush picnics and guided walks in exclusive wilderness areas – activities not allowed in National Parks. African Encounters will sponsor an orphaned baby elephant at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi for every booking on this safari.
In Tanzania Lake Manyara National Park is a real gem, famous for flocks of flamingoes and tree-climbing lions. A highlight will be Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage site and one of the most breath-taking locations in Africa.
You’ll spend three nights at a luxury camp in the Serengeti and enjoy great wildlife viewing across this famous park.

What our clients have to say...
“My first time in Africa and I am hooked – absolutely have to come back! Could not have had a better introduction to such an amazing country. The Porini camps are just the best way to go – their conservation ethic right up my alley. There were many memorable moments every day but the best for me – eyeballing lion cubs, the wild dogs, leopard up a tree, cheetahs, elephants so close, being able to get close to the animals, having it all to ourselves, zebras and antelopes forever – and last but not least the beautiful Maasai people. Thank you so much Karen, for such an amazing journey. Your organisation and understanding of the best way to do it are very much appreciated. See you in Botswana next year!

“Thank you so much Karen, for introducing us to this wonderful part of Africa. Every hour, every day was incredibly special – so much to see and absorb. It was an incredible (as a change from ‘amazing’!) privilege to mix with the Maasai people and humbling to visit their village. The Porini camps – all superb and unique, and the ‘African massage’ a vital part after the superb 3-course dining. Seeing all the animals in natural environs – so magnifico! I have over 1000 photos and look forward to sorting and re-living the experience many times over. Great bunch of travelling companions and hope to all meet up again for many more laughs!”
