Two Rivers in Zambia

Two Rivers in Zambia

On our Two Rivers in Zambia safari you’ll stay in small and exclusive owner operated camps in two of Zambia’s premier wildlife destinations; the South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi National Parks.

These parks are much less visited than their counterparts in Botswana, Tanzania or Kenya, and are home to Africa’s original walking safaris. The highly qualified Zambian walking guides are among the best in Africa. This safari combines walks and game drives in these two magnificent National Parks with the optional extra activities of canoeing and tiger fishing on the Zambezi River.

Your Two Rivers in Zambia safari includes a donation to support local communities and wildlife. You’ll visit local workshops producing stunning textiles and jewellery made from recovered snare wire in South Luangwa, and conservation projects working to protect Zambia’s amazing wildlife.

Tour Highlights:

  • Very comfortable bush camps in remote locations, well away from other camps and vehicles.
  • Day & night game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles.
  • Incredible wildlife encounters.
  • Visit conservation and community support projects.
  • Boat safaris and canoeing on the mighty Zambezi River.
  • Learn about wildlife and ‘the small 5’ on walks with professional guides and rangers.
  • Escorted from Lusaka, Zambia by African Encounters tour director Karen Platzer.

Karen will be taking just 8 participants on this exclusive ‘safari in comfort’ so early booking is essential!  The remote camps we use are very small and they fill 12 months or more in advance.

Starts: Lusaka, Zambia    Ends: Lusaka, Zambia

Optional extension: Finish your safari with a few idyllic days on a beautiful island in Lake Malawi. Leisurely days and candle-lit dinners on the beach, and a visit to the small fishing village with the third largest cathedral in Central Africa are a wonderful way to end your magnificent safari.

What our clients have to say...

We have travelled on safari to Africa with Karen 5 times now and just can’t wait to get back there again. Africa is THE dream holiday destination and traveling there with Karen is the only way we would go now. Every day is absolutely brilliant – a feast of incredible animals, landscapes, cultures, and gobsmackingly gorgeous food and comfy camps. Karen is passionate about Africa and she willingly passes that passion on to her clients. She organises her tours in a way that every client’s wishes are catered for. It’s fantastic to be able to say “Karen, we want to go back again. Please organise everything for us”. Just a word of warning though – if you go once, you HAVE to go back again ………….. and again ………… and again …………….
