The best of Southern Africa – Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana!
Your Zimbabwe, Zambia & Botswana adventure starts in Zambia where you’ll enjoy two days at our beautiful lodge on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. This recently renovated lodge has 8 twin rooms and 2 family units. Each room has its own indoor and outdoor bathrooms, as well as a luxurious private plunge pool. You’ll visit the Zambia side of Victoria Falls, a neighbouring village and the Livingstone Museum. A sunset cruise on the Zambezi with the lodge’s private boat will be a highlight.
Zimbabwe is back on the list of ‘must visit’ destinations in Africa – see it before the crowds arrive! Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s biggest reserve, home to a profusion of wildlife, including giraffe, lion, zebra and approximately 40 000 elephants. It provides sanctuary for all the country’s endangered species, including a population of wild dogs thought to be one of the largest surviving groups on the continent. Activities here include guided walks with qualified guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles and looking for nocturnal wildlife on night drives. Wildlife sightings include elephant, kudu, sable antelope, zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, giraffe, white rhino, lion, leopard, hyena, and many other wildlife species.
In our two luxury camps in Botswana you’ll enjoy some of the most spacious and comfortable tented accommodation and beds available today – and some of the most incredible game viewing. Our first camp is on the edge of Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta, where you’ll experience day and night game drives, guided walks and mokoro through the delta waterways. Our second camp is within a private concession in the Linyanti, bordering the western boundary of Chobe National Park. Linyanti is best known for its large populations of elephant and buffalo. Other wildlife encounters include lion, sable and roan antelopes, leopard, African wild dog, the rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo and crocodile, as well as other species of plains game. The area also offers spectacular birding all year round.
And as a final highlight on your Zimbabwe, Zambia & Botswana safari – enjoy a close encounter with habituated meerkats on Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Salt Pans!

What our clients have to say...
“Karen Platzer, director and tour guide of African Encounters, promised us “Safaris beyond your expectations” and she definitely kept her promise – it was a trip of a lifetime.
I was born and brought up in Zimbabwe and am now living in New Zealand and I wondered if she could introduce me to any new experiences in Africa and she went far beyond that and blew me away.
Karen has now captured my imagination and I’m off with her again this year on another safari adventure in Africa – why not come along – you will never regret it.”
