This southern Africa safari to Zimbabwe, Zambia, & Botswana is an authentic African experience with all the trimmings – action, adventure, and luxury!

    • Explore Botswana’s Okavango Delta in an open 4×4 safari vehicle, and by a mokoro (traditional canoe). Your expert guide has been poling these waterways since he was a child.
    • Experience rhino tracking and game drives in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park.
    • Watch elephants and other wildlife as you sit by the elephant pool at your luxury camp in Hwange National Park.
    • Visit the Zambian side of the spectacular Victoria Falls.

Enjoy game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles – perfect for wildlife viewing and photography. Learn about the ‘small 5’ on walks with our very experienced guides. Canoe through the waterways watching as elephants cross your path. And relax after dinner with a nightcap around the campfire  – this bucket-list safari has it all.

On your Zimbabwe, Zambia, & Botswana safari you’ll stay in private wildlife concessions where you’ll experience night game drives and guided walks – activities not permitted within National Parks. You’ll never have to share wildlife encounters with hordes of other vehicles. In fact, there probably won’t be another vehicle for miles! Private concessions offer a sense of seclusion and exclusivity. You can enjoy the beauty of your surroundings without the hustle and bustle of crowded tourist areas.

The superb safari camps are built sustainably with minimal impact on the environment. They work closely with the communities around them. The spacious luxury tents all have en-suite bathrooms and very comfortable beds – this really is ‘camping in style’.

A portion of your safari payment supports local communities and conservation projects. You’ll have opportunities to see how vital this support is during your safari.

This is the ultimate African safari, and it’s very popular. Karen will be taking just 8 participants on this exclusive ‘safari in comfort’ so early booking is essential!

    Optional add-ons:

A few relaxing days at our superb lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe is the perfect way to start your Zimbabwe, Zambia, & Botswana safari. It’s located away from the bustle of town but close enough to visit the Zimbabwe side of the Falls (included), or to do some last-minute shopping. Each spacious room has a private plunge pool and deck overlooking the river, and the meals, staff, and boat trips on the river are exceptional. It’s no wonder that my guests rave about this stunning lodge and don’t want to leave!

    Itinerary

2 – 4 November, Zimbabwe: Independent arrival at Victoria Falls airport in Zimbabwe where you will join your flight to Hwange National Park. Zimbabwe’s biggest reserve is home to a profusion of wildlife, including giraffes, lions, zebra, and approximately 40,000 elephants. It provides a sanctuary for all the country’s endangered species, including a population of wild dogs thought to be among the largest surviving groups on the continent.

Your very comfortable home for the next 3 nights is built in the style of the vintage safari camps of a bygone era. The camp has 6 luxury tents on raised decking to take advantage of the views over the savannah. All tents have en-suite bathrooms and charging facilities, and the main area has a lounge and dining area overlooking a small elephant pool. Huge herds of elephants come to drink at the pool every day, providing up-close encounters with these magnificent animals. Activities include guided walks led by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives, and night drives.

5 – 7 November, Zambia: Fly back to Victoria Falls and road transfer across the border to Livingstone in Zambia. Your beautiful lodge is on the banks of the Zambezi River in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. The lodge has 10 rooms, each with its own indoor and outdoor bathrooms, as well as a private plunge pool overlooking the river.

Activities here include a visit to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, game drives in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, cultural village visits, fishing, and a sunset river cruise on our private boat. Here you will experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure tracking rhinos on foot. The rhinos are under 24-hour protection by the rangers who will ensure you will be able to get close to the animals while maintaining the utmost respect for one of Africa’s most iconic species.

8 – 10 November, Botswana: Road transfer across the border to Kasane in Botswana to join your flight into the Okavango Delta where you’ll spend 3 nights in a stunning new eco-camp. The camp is in the Khwai area, adjacent to Moremi Game Reserve. It offers the same wildlife experience as the Game Reserve with the added advantage of being a private concession which means the ability to do walking safaris and night drives. The 7 elegant tents are perched on wooden decking along the banks of the Khwai River. Witness the incredible wildlife of Moremi Game Reserve, the oldest protected section of the Okavango Delta. Imagine spotting lions, leopards, elephants, and giraffes roaming free in their natural habitat, and seeing nocturnal wildlife on a night game drive.

11 November, Botswana: After breakfast fly to Maun International Airport to connect with your flight home.

Optional add-on before your safari: Join me for 2 nights at a superb lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to enjoy the spectacular Falls from Zimbabwe. Please note that due to low river levels, the Falls will be more impressive on the Zimbabwe side at this time of year. NZ$2685.

High quality small group tours with like minded people. From her experience Karen chooses beautiful small camps mostly in private concessions so you are not competing with crowds of tourists. Each camp is unique in location and design and staffed by dedicated local people who go beyond expectations to ensure you see and experience as much as possible during your stay. I highly recommend Karen.
